RIDGEWAY 20

2008

In 2008 the walk takes place on Saturday 10th May.
Starting at White Horse Hill, it follows the ancient Ridgeway path for 20 miles, finally reaching Streatley Youth Hostel, where free tea and cakes are provided. There are checkpoints along the way where snacks and drinks are available, again free of charge. St John Ambulance is in attendance linked by the Raynet radio system, in case of emergencies. Transport to the start is by means coach from Streatley Youth Hostel to White Horse Hill.

Walkers who succeed in finishing the walk will be presented with a certificate.

The walk is as much a social event as an endurance event. Teams from organizations such as Thames Water, West Berkshire Ramblers, the Goring Health Walkers and Reading YHA and Outdoor Group have all taken part in the past years.

As the walk shares facilities with the 40 mile Ridgeway Walk, and the 40 mile trail run, we are able to offer all the above for a low price.

The walk is organized under the auspices of Reading Outdoor Group.
